Thermal Imagers Installed in the Airport “Manas” to Detect Coronavirus

On January 22 Tolo Isakov, the Director of the Disease Prevention and Expertise Department of the MOH informed about thermal imagers installed at all checkpoints on the border with China and at Manas airport to detect coronavirus..

⠀He said, that thermal imagers are able to detect people with fever and suspected infectious diseases at a distance.

⠀"So far, the World Health Organization does not introduce restrictive measures in any country. Also, there is no exact statement about virus transmission. It has been reported that the virus is transmitted from person to person. However, WHO has not made an official statement", he said.

Isakov also noted that to date the novel coronavirus has not been registered in Kyrgyzstan. "The issue is under control. We also deliver training seminars for doctors and provide information about influenza, ARI, ARVI and coronavirus", he explained.

⠀In late December, the Chinese authorities reported an outbreak of pneumonia of unknown origin in the city of Wuhan. The experts have previously established that the disease was caused by the novel type of coronavirus.
