Within the scope of World Antimicrobial Awareness Week, a presentation of the “Med Safety” mobile app as an international tool to ensure drug safety took place in the Ministry of Health of the KR. This mobile app was developed by the Department of Medicines and Medical Products under the MoH KR with technical support from WHO and the Medicines & Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency of Great Britain.
According to Jyldyz Jumagulova, Head of Pharmacovigilance Division of the Department of Medicines and Medical Products, this app is very useful for sharing pharmaсovigilance information with other countries. “Thanks to the monitoring of side effects together with colleagues from other countries, one medicament is being recalled from Kyrgyzstan’s market (effect on the liver), while amendments are being made to instructions for medical use of the second medicament. It was possible to learn all this because of the app,” noted Jyldyz Jumagulova.
The mobile app is very simple to use – anyone can download it on their phone free of charge and send messages. The Russian version of the app is available in AppStore и Google Play Market:
